The Tasman Peninsula and surrounds has fantastic food experiences in addition to the excellent restaurants and cafes.

Dunalley Fish Markets
Just next to the bridge in Dunalley is one of the freshest fish markets around. The selection is limited but the fish are as fresh as the sea. In season you can also purchase delicious crayfish.

Strawberry Farm
There are a couple of strawberry farms but one of the best is at the top of the hill as you leave Eaglehawk Neck. The superb strawberries are grown hydroponically and you are free to pick your own. Just turn right at the top of the hill and you will see the sign.

Roadside Stalls
Driving around the Peninsula you will often come across roadside stalls selling whatever is in season in the orchard or garden. Most of the stalls work on an honour system – just take what you like and leave the correct money.

Pirates Bay Octopus
The renowned marinated Pirates Bay Octopus is caught fresh from the seas of the Peninsula. It is available from local shops.

Doo Town Meats
Some of the best sausages and venision come from Doo Town Meats — at guess where? If you see it on a menu don’t pass up the opportunity.

Rannock Quail
Once again, the famous Rannock Quail is bred right here on the Peninsula. You will see it on menus at top restaurants all around the state and on the north island.

Federation Chocolates
Get an insight into the art of chocolate making through the viewing windows of the Chocolate Factory at Taranna (opposite the Devil Park). Free viewings, chocolate tastings and the chance to view an interesting collection of early timber cutting and milling equipment — all at the same time!

Tasman Farmers Market
This innovation of the local community and Tasman Council is in its infancy but operates each Sunday from 10am-2pm. There is usually some live entertainment, fresh Tasman Peninsula produce, handmade garments, local photography, special delicacies to have with a tea or coffee and a range of arts, crafts and native plants. Look out for the signs as you pass through Taranna, 10 minutes north from Stewarts Bay Lodge.

There are also several good restaurants for dining out.
